Do Sounders fans need to adjust our idea of success for the modern MLS? The league worships the god of parity and feels especially engineered for chaos and stalemate now. Going forward, is it unrealistic to expect the extended runs of dominance we've historically had?

MLS has always worshipped parity and Sounders have mostly been able to rise above it. It's fair for fans to be frustrated when the Sounders are in extended runs of poor form, but expecting regular runs at the Supporters' Shield is probably unrealistic.
